Celebrated the autumn season with what seems like an annual shoot with my good friend, Hilary. This shoot was actually about 10 months in the works and changed with the seasons. But I am glad it ended up in my favorite season.

Trent Dabbs & Friends
Last night, May 30, was not only a Trent Dabbs' concert...but it was a mini-Ten out of Tenn show. So many talented people on one stage. Truly entertaining for 3+ hours. I think the pictures will say it all.

Be In Love
One of the best tours I have witnessed this spring belonged to Butch Walker and the Black Widows with opening band, Locksley. So I may be a little biased towards Locksley because I have watched them progress since 2005. Their energy onstage is contagious. The crowd cannot help but move and dance around even if they aren't familiar with the music. The following images were taken at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC and Exit/In in Nashville, TN.

The Nashville Flood
Never have I witnessed such a disaster directly than what I witnessed this past weekend. While being stuck inside my apartment all of Sunday, I sat there and watched Nashville and the surrounding areas be engulfed with water of the Cumberland and other creeks. I count my blessings that myself and my friends were lucky to walk away from this relatively unharmed. So many other people and businesses however were not so lucky. Not only have people lost their homes and jobs, but also priceless memories that just cannot be replaced. Working in a camera shop, it hurts when I am at work and someone brings in a stack of photographs or home movies that were damaged. How am I supposed to tell these people that their memories are lost? I want to erase their pain and make it go away.
It will take months for Nashville to heal. Even when the outside forgets about us and goes on to help somewhere else, Nashville will heal because of the community it has right in its own backyard.
Life will go on. And, Music definitely will go on.
For it isn't called Music City for nothing.
I heard that CMA Music Fest is going on as planned in June. Right now that seems impossible with downtown still flooded, but we have one thing on our side: faith.

updates galore.
Update #1 - I guess I forgot to post about my second job out here. I am interning over at Spectacle Entertainment (management), working primarily with DO2W... helping them with getting more press, shows, social networking, and any ideas I have to further their career. My first piece that I got them was featured on the blog, KingsofAR.com :D
Update #2 - As I mentioned before, I shot the Carney show about a week and a half ago. The other opener was The Pretty Reckless, another new Interscope band, so I took some shots of them as well. You very well may see some of my Carney shots used in some form of marketing/promo in the near future. You can see all of them on my flickr. Here are a few of my favorites:

Update #3 - This past Tuesday, I got the chance to catch out Bleu at the Hotel Cafe (He's doing a residency there in July) as well as see a very rare acoustic performance by Rooney. It was pretty crowded but I was able to get a few good pictures. For all those Rooney fans out there, new album hopefully by fall/winter and touring in November - or at least that is what they are aiming for.

Update #4 - Yesterday, I tagged along with Lindsey and documented some stuff for Interscope artist, Jibbs (album due out later this summer). I can't show you any of the photos yet from that photoshoot, but as soon as I can - I will. :)
Update #5 - I have figured out how to use Skype, so now I can see your lovely faces.
Update #6 - A list of people JUST coming to the Hotel Cafe this July => Jackie Tohn, Bleu/Drake Bell, David Ryan Harris/Ernie Halter, Chantel Kreviazuk, The Spring Standards, Madi Diaz, Matthew Perryman Jones, The Chapin Sisters. There are definitely some that I cannot miss for anything.
P.S. I want tickets to Idol on July 16 - or a photo pass. I wish that was possible. :/
P.P.S. I am also sad to see Brooke White's Hotel Cafe show not listed anymore. I was looking forward to that one the most.

Back to my roots
Tomorrow, I finally get back to what I love. Seeing live music with camera in hand.
Thanks to my lovely office this summer, I have a press pass to CARNEY tomorrow night.
Its at the Henry Fonda Theater which is a very old beautiful theater.
Wednesday, I plan on seeing Butterfly Boucher at the Hotel Cafe, my Evening Muse of the West Coast minus the VIP treatment. And Thursday, Terra Naomi is playing--- I hope I can check her out too.
In the next week, Hotel Cafe surely will see a lot of me.
Katie Herzig plays there next Monday, who I cannot miss.
and Tuesday is BLEU and ROONEY...oh my.
